In Brooklyn, the meeting is next to the Post Office Building downtown; in Manhattan, it's at 80 Broad Street. The trustee will verify your Social Security Number, petition, and schedules. In Chapter 7, if the trustee finds no property to sell and pay your creditors, he or she will close the meeting. Your discharge will occur in a month or two. In Chapter 13, you make monthly payments for either 3 or 5 years.

The Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 Bankruptcy Court amendment lets you keep running your business, paying creditors over a three-to-five-year period. It also provides that the Court will help with your reorganization.

All Fees must be paid before filing
For Chapter 7, you can pay my $3,000 fee in installments, but I require $1,000 before starting work. There is also a $335 filing fee.
Chapter 13, the fee is $6,000 (partial payment must be made upfront) the remainder of the fee may be paid during the 3- to 5-year plan. The Chapter 13 filing fee is $310.
